![]() I never saw so many people say Soul Society is easily the peak until YouTubers started trashing everything after it some years ago. That's fair, but I also see mixed answers when this question was asked to Bleach fans on other forums too. The Soul Society arc didn't have that problem. The same goes for The Lost Agent and Thousand-Year Blood War, which had irresistible elements but couldn't congeal them into a satisfying whole (again, just my opinion). I think the Arrancar Saga had the ingredients to be just as thrilling – if not more so – but it devolved into a disappointing grind with some dire pacing issues and ill-conceived story choices. In my opinion, Kubo never stuck the landing of another arc after that, which was doubly frustrating because he had already conclusively proven that he was capable of tying ambitious and intricate plot threads together into a satisfying whole. It had richly imagined world-building, effortlessly juggled a massive influx of new characters, and it was a tremendously satisfying payoff for Ichigo and Rukia's friendship that still managed to have an absolutely shocking final act twist. Diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks, but I think it is clearly the Soul Society Arc.
